A Thanksgiving Greeting from Kerby and Kyrie
November 24th, 2007Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Our dogs, Kerby and Kyrie, evidently didn’t care much for our Thanksgiving plans. (Being left alone.) They decided to protest the occasion by leaving a gift for me for when I got home from work.

The dogs shredded their bed lining into tiny pieces. Visually, it looked as if it had snowed in the house, covering all of the main floor with a fluffy white blanket. I was overwhelmed by the level of mess involved, and had a few moment of stunned non-comprehension as to what happened.
I suspect Kerby, who is a bit bratty at his age, started the mischief. Kyrie, the more sensitive and well-behaved of the two, may have joined in afterwards. In any case, she hid under the living room side table when she saw that I wasn’t pleased with the wreckage. Kerby, oblivious to my mental state, leaped and woofed petulantly for attention.

Just the day before I found chew damage on one of the banisters upstairs. (Kerby being the prime suspect once again.) I wrote that off to them not having any chew toys in the house. No such excuse existed last night, as I had retrieved all of their toys from the backyard. They must just be stressed from having their pack mistress out of town. (I can definitely sympathize.)

In response to their thoughtfulness and generosity, the two little troublemakers were rewarded with a good meal and a long walk. (It pays to be a puppy.)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ![]()
